The Bit by Bit Instructional Decodables Collection 2 (Blends and Silent E) contains 10 copies of each of our 30 titles (300 books in total). It also contains a Teacher Guide, featuring information and lessons plans for each book, plus 10 sets of Blending Lines for Student Practice.
Collection 2 texts are designed for early readers ready to tackle slightly more complex spelling patterns than Collection 1 (which contains VC, CVC, and digraphs). The first half of Collection 2 begins with blends, starting with words that have 4 phonemes, then moving to words that have 5 phonemes (CCVCC, CCCVC). The second half of Collection 2 introduces words with the silent e spelling pattern (CVCe). As in Collection 1, all the books have engaging storylines with diverse characters, and students who read books from Collection 1 will recognize some of their favorite characters.
